I was searching for an obituary of a woman who recently died who was very much like a second mother to me, and I deeply grieve her passing. But I saw the beautiful photo of your mom, so filled with life and love in her sparkling eyes and radiant smile, that I grieved too when I read your loving sentiments as well. All my life, even since I was a little girl, I would weep at the very thought of my mother dying, and here, now, my mother is still with me (at age 87) but...

I can only tell you as a devoted daughter myself, I know the pain you feel. It has been 19 years since my mom passed away. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her. Maybe something she said or did that made me smile or laugh. Memories are what we hold onto and when they are good memories, nothing and know one can ever take them away... Your Mom was also someone who I felt close to for so much of my life and I keep her close in thought along with my Mom and my Dad......

Dear Anna: You don't know me, and I didn't know your mom. I can only see your pain in your ever word. As a mom who is so very close to her daughter too, please KNOW that your mom lives on IN YOU. You are so right, your life, your heart, your actions are a testament to your mother's love and devotion. She is still with you, and she will always be smiling down upon you. Live your life well in her honor. She was fortunate to have such a bond with her daughter. You are the greatest gift...
