Not sure what to say?

Mary was an inspiration to everyone who knew her but especially my dad, Burl Hays. When he retired, he started walking at the track in Fairfield. He was pleasantly surprised to find that Mary, a long time friend of the family, also walked on a daily basis in the "wee" hours of the morning. Then a third walker came along, Lucille, and they fast became the "Three Walking Musketeers". They watched out for each other. As time went on,phone calls were made when someone wasn't going to show up...

I knew Mary when I first started playing tennis at Riverside Racquet Club. I was her partner in the inter-club tennis. She was a very good tennis player and friend. I just heard she passed away and we all will miss such a wonderful person.

At the passing of the last surviving relative of my Mom & Dad's generation, I share a few reflections about Aunt Mary. She was an authentic human being and one of the kindest persons I have ever known. As I was growing up, especially in my teen years, she often bolstered my saging self-esteen. Whether it was coming in first in a spelling bee, or winning the American Legion essay contest, she hugged me and told me how proud she was. Uncle Don did the same.
My fondest memory of Aunt...

Your mother/grandmother was a friend of ours and she will be missed by all of us who knew her. God Bless You All! Mary you have won the final race
