Not sure what to say?

Hello Jim... Deepest sympathy with the passing of Mary. I've been a fond reader of Mary's writings over the past 30 years. Mary and I exchanged Emails a few times about her historical writings since the History of Central PA is of interest to me. When you married Mary I knew she picked a good man for a husband. You and I worked together at Allied Pix in the mid 1960s when I attended John Harris High School. I worked as a Copy Boy and photo developer for Allied at The Patriot News...

Dear Jim: I was sorry to read about the passing of Mary. She certainly had a way of commuicating with her readers.

Jim:
This is your cousin, Ruth, we want to send you our deepest sympathy in the death of your wonderful wife, Mary.
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

Ruth & Don Byerly

Mary was one of those wonderful people who everyone called a friend. As a former co-worker, I saw evidence of her kindness almost every day. Sincere sympathy to Jim, Liz and family. I didn't get to sign the guest book at the funeral home so wanted to add this.

Mary and I often walked home from grade school together. She only lived a few blocks from me. We graduated in the class of 1964 from York Catholic. Mary was the sweetest girl. I always thought she would go far. She loved her work, her marriage, and her family. I haven't see her in quite a while. This was a shock to hear she passed away. When I saw her at a class reunion, we promised to do lunch. That was a while back. We never did it.
My deepest sympathy to her family. They were blessed...

You could always count on Mary, as a journalist and a Union member. Intelligent, creative, unflappable, someone who enjoyed life and stood by her convictions. Her story on the anniversary of the horror movie "The Blob'' is one of the best I've ever read. My condolences Jim.

Jim you have our most sincere sympathy..I enjoyed working with her while at Allied Pix, and wish you all the best. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

From 1990 through 1992, Mary generously and graciously taught me all I know about cops reporting and the importance of appreciating the dignity of people who get caught up in the legal system, even when it is of their own doing. I feel fortunate to have known her, and I use what she taught me every day. Godspeed.

Although I didn't know Mary personally, I've enjoyed her stories for many years, and I will miss them. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
