Mary Brazell

Doctor Brazell touched my heart like no other teacher or mentor. My english teacher at Carmel Middle, she gave me a journal saying I needed to write my beautiful words. I held on to that book, treasuring it through many moves and many years. I never forgot her. A child of divorce and uprooted from Illinois to Carmel in 6th grade, I was in shock to be in this unfamiliar place. Since the day your mom introduced Herman and I, you've been a part of our lives. I remember you as a little girl running up and down the stairs at your mom's business school. I remember holding you on my lap and reading Bible stories to you. You were the apple of your mom's eyes and everyone else that met you. I've loved you for such a long time. You are just like family to us. I remember all the Sunday afternoons you and your mom were at my folks' house eating chocolate cake and homemade ice cream. I'll always remember your beautiful eyes, your great smile and your wit. I'll miss you forever until I see you again.

I had Miss Brazell for English from 1967-69 at Middle School and remember the wonderful time I had in her class. She will be missed.
