My sister - my friend - Mae

There are two kinds of people in this world - Givers and Takers. My sister Mary was a giver. She gave her time and talents to those who were in need. A kind word, a pat on the shoulder was a sign that she understood and was there for you. She was baptized Mary Catherine and for her Conformation she took the name Frances. It is with this in mind that I pay tribute to her life with the prayer of St. Francis.

Make me a channel of your...

It is 3:35 a.m. and I can’t sleep. This past week I have been thinking about whether I would write anything about my aunt Mae. My time and memories of her are special only between us. But when I found out it will go into a book about her and not a newspaper, then it was an easy decision.
Mae was not just my aunt. She was a very special person in my life from as far back as I can remember. I remember going to visit her when she lived in the bottom floor of...

My Life with Dr. Mary Bryan

I remember when: My aunt Mae and Grace took my brothers and I to the New York Worlds Fair some where around 1962. It was exciting and adventurous all at the same time.
She introduced me to my first Opera at the age of 10 at a performance put on at the Regis College. I remember I didn’t like it, at that age I found it to be boring. I wish she were here with me now, I’d be honored to escort her to the Opera.
She would always hand me her coin purse...

Aunt Mae was a warm wonderful person. She loved her family very much, especially her brother "Matt" and sister "Ronnie". She always wanted to now how everybody in the family was doing in school or work. Mae looked at the good in people, and felt people will always do the right thing. Mae loved politics and when you came to visit she loved to discuss the current political topics of the day. She felt that by debating politics, it helped to keep her mind sharp. And if you could not come...

Mary C. Bryan, The Professor.
Mary loved teaching it was her first love. We were so proud of her acomplishments. Mary known as "Mae" the Sister, Aunt, and Great Aunt. Mae was a very loving person who cared about everyone. As a sister she was very special. Mae was always there for every birth, baptisem, first comumion, confirmation, and wedding of our four children. Our grand children would love to visit and listen to her tell stories, about her trips or books she read. She always...

Dr Mary C.Bryan ,
The title well deserved, the person so special for all of us . I have many great memories of my aunt , such as the penant's she always sent me from her travels with aunt grace , to the graduation card she sent me in high school.Yet after reading the words of my sisters and others in this guest book , my best memory of my aunt will be the example she set for all of us to follow.
My aunt lived in a house that was built by her great grandfather , on a lot that was...

Mary Bryan, a woman of great knowledge with the need to share it. I attribute my great love for reading and research to my Aunt Mae. When I was very young she would send me the classics on birthdays and Christmas. I can remember looking forward with anticipation to the new adventures these books would take me on. As I aged and grew in my love of literature I would write to Mae & discuss my findings and await her response & critique. My avid appreciation for education & thirst for...

My Aunt Mae was the kindest person I had ever met. My mom her sister called in 1994 and asked me if I would like to go to Ireland with her, well I said yes but why ? Mae and her were to go, our other Aunt had fallen in Fl and Mae was going to be with her. Mae thought I would like to take her place with my mom. When my mom and I got to the Boston airport Mae and Dick were there to get us. Never having been to Boston I was thrilled. Mae took us to see many great things in the few short days we...

My aunt was the most remarkable women you could ever meet. She could be loving and kind on so many levels but when she was passionate about a subject she could go for the jugular vein. She was always exciting to talk with. She helped to keep your mind sharp and also helped you to see many views of the same subject. She cared deeply about her family and was always willing to help if necessary. She did however believe she knew the best way to fix most problems(ha,ha)and was always willing to...
