Mary's life journey began May 15, 1929, to parents, Daisy Lee Bell and George Edward Parker. Also taking a huge part in her life: an uncle and two aunts, William Henry and Cera Lee Rivers and Lizzie Shackleford.
Her spiritual journey began at Mount Zion Baptist Church of East Thomas at an early age, under the pastoral guidance of Reverend John’s Life. Mary attended East Thomas School, Carrie A. Tuggle, and graduated from A.H. Parker High School in January 1948. She then received a certificate from Boyd School of Nursing. She married the love of her life, John Thomas Cargill, on Sunday, August 29, 1948. To this union, Marrion, John, Jr., and Cora were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and co- parents, Cora and John.
She worked at YWCA and volunteered at United Cerebral Palsy, which later became United Ability. One of her most valued treasures was a plaque presented to her by Parker High School, class of 1968 in 1994.
She exited her earthly journey early on Monday, December 5, 2022, to the land of Peaceful Rest.

I thank God for allowing me to know and love Ms Mary. A true sweetie pie . Always sharing her wisdom and knowledge with other young women about Jesus. We had a long talk about her homegoing and she shared how ready she was because she's a child of God. Her last words to me was: please.take care of Marion, don't forget about her because I'll be resting. Tell her we loved and thanked her for taking care of us. Rest in Peace Momma Mary
