Mary Margaret Chambers

Mary Margaret "Peggy" Chambers, 82, of Arkansas City, KS died Sunday, September 30, 2012, at Medicalodge East. Graveside services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Chaplain Ron Cross will officiate. Peggy was born November 14, 1929, to Oliver F. and Sadie J. (Gardner) Weston in Dexter, KS. She was reared and educated in Dexter and Arkansas City. In 1957, she married Raymond Chambers in Medford, OK. The couple made their home in Tacoma, Washington for several years before moving back to Arkansas City in 1985. Peggy was a homemaker and housewife. Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Vaughn of Cedar Vale, KS; Beverly Baughman and husband Melvin of Arkansas City, KS; brother, Donald Weston of Arkansas City, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond, three brothers, Charles, Richard, Kenneth, and a sister Betty Wright. A memorial has been established with the Cowley County Humane Society. Contribution may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home.
