Mrs. Mary Margaret Chenoweth

Mary Margaret Chenoweth, 89, of Columbia, Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2015. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Loren and Mary Vaughan. She spent most of her life in the Baltimore/Washington, DC area with husband Buhl Chenoweth, who preceded her in death in 2004. She is survived by son Rev. Christopher (Jerri) Chenoweth; granddaughter Jennifer Chenoweth; grandson Jonathan Chenoweth; great-granddaughter Savannah Beck; nephews Mark (Judy) Vaughan, and Craig (Kaye) Vaughan; and many other family members and friends. Mary enjoyed a long and fulfilling career, retiring from AARP. She remained active and independent until shortly before her passing. Mary so enjoyed her time with her bridge group, and loved her activities and friends at the Dancel Family Center Y. She was passionate about traveling the world, especially cruising. Her positive attitude, youthful spirit, sense of humor, infectious laughter, and simple love of life will remain an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, February 25th at 2 pm at the Dancel Family Center Y, 4331 Montgomery Road, Ellicott City, MD 21043 (phone 410-465-4334). Her son will officiate. Friends will be encouraged to share their memories of Mary at the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her memory to the Y's Children's Summer Camp Program.
