Janie was a great friend and neighbor of my family. Her father, Harold, and mine, Francis A. Cherrier, were longtime good friends. Janie used to take me and my younger sisters out in her convertible when we were teenagers. My Mom worked at the horse track in Hinsdale for awhile, another way we knew Janie.
