AGE: 84 • Brick
Mary A. Chieco, 84, of Brick, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Van Dyke Hospice at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Kearny and Manahawkin prior to moving to Brick three years ago. She was employed as a librarian with the Kearny Library System. She had also been a teacher at the primary school level for a number of years. She enjoyed writing and was an avid reader and animal lover. Mary was the secretary for the Women's Club of Atlantic Hills, Manahawkin, and was also a volunteer with the community newspaper.
Mary is survived by her husband of 54 years, John Chieco; her 4 children, Barbara Rosado, Elissa Davis, Daniel Chieco, and Maria Mitchell; her brother, Louis Pandolfi; and 8 grandchildren, Matthew, Brianna, Michael, Nicholas, Brett, Julia, Natalie and Christine.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Road, Brick. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1 at the Church of the Visitation in Brick. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 would be greatly appreciated.
