Mary J. (Yoder) Chupp, age 84, died peacefully, surrounded by her family at 8:30 pm, Sunday, March 1, 2026 at her son’s home.  Mary was born on April 13, 1941 in Nappanee to Jonas V. and Nancy (Slabaugh) Yoder.  On September 26, 1963, she married Levi S. Chupp.  He passed away on August 28, 2018.  Mary was a lifetime area resident.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.


Mary is survived by her children, 7 sons and 2 daughters; Lyle (Mary) Chupp, Etna Green, Merle (Kathy) Chupp, Etna Green, Norman (Margaret) Chupp, Nappanee, Lee Alan (Carolyn) Chupp, Etna Green, John Chupp, Bourbon, Vera (Phil) Burkholder, Holmesville, OH, Rosetta Chupp, Bourbon, Marlin (Rebecca) Chupp, Wakarusa, and Paul (Maria) Chupp, Nappanee; 33 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Martha (Walter) Miller, Nappanee, Elizabeth (Lamar) Hochstetler, Nappanee.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Levi; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Chupp; granddaughters, Julia, Martha, Ruth Chupp; and siblings, Edwin, Ivan, Melvin, Elmer Yoder, and Edna Helmuth.


Family and friends may call after 2 Monday, March 2, 2026 and all day Tuesday, March 3rd at the Lee Alan Chupp residence, 10181 W 900 N, Etna Green.  Funeral services will begin at 9:30 am, Wednesday, March 4th also at Lee Alan Chupp residence.  Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will be in Graber Cemetery.
