Not sure what to say?

Dear Ann:
It was wonderful to see you and our Capitol Hill classmates. My memories of your mother center around her readings from the ambo at St. Joe's - especially during Holy Week when she would narrate the Passion on Good Friday. I know it's hard to imagine, but I spoke the role of Jesus for around 10 years with Mary, and she never hesitated to correct my line readings.
I can't separate her from Father Lee - they were so sweetly devoted to each other - so the letter he wrote...

Kathy and Ann, and all of your family.
I'm sorry to learn of the loss of your mother.

All my best

Kennard R Burdick

Dear Patty, Rosanne, Colleen and family,
The last time I saw your dear mother we were walking up 18th together, both on our way to my mother's funeral. Your mom expressed kind words to me about my mom as she made her familiar trek to to the church to do her blessed work at St. Joseph's. I am very grateful to your mom for her dedication to raising such a wonderful family and her generosity to the community of St. Joseph's parish. Your mom and family are in my prayers.

To all Mary's children...

It has been a pleasure knowing your dear mother. She was a wonderful christian woman and she will sure be missed by many.We wish you good luck and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mary & John Conroy, George & Mary Anne Fleck, Harry & Clare Rich, Mark & Sara Jane Hurley, my parents, John & Olite, and others in the CFM at St. Joe's formed a group of close-knit friends, starting in the mid-1960s and extending through the subsequent decades. Mary could always be counted on for her wit, her down-to-earth savvy, and for her caring about others. She had her eyes open and her ear to the ground. To her credit, Mary recognized the first symptoms of a disease that afflicts my Mom...

I was saddened to hear about the loss of the matriarch of the Conroy Clan. Your mother and her daughters were a huge, vital and important part of my childhood. I have so many wonderful memories of time spent in your home and with your family; I think of your mom every time I see an Irish sweater. Please accept my deepest sympathies on your loss. The world has lost a great woman.

Bob, Sarah and all the Conroy's: So sorry to hear of your matriarch Mary's passing. We had some good times together, shopping or gardening, attending Mass or making the perfect cup of tea, I always appreciated her tutelage. God bless you in your grief, Jeanie Boddy, caregiver.

Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. My mom, Gen Conroy Mendez, spoke with fondness of Aunt Mary Helen. Her obituary is a beautiful tribute to quite a lady. You all are very blessed to have had her in your lives.
