Mary Nancy Perrotta Del Vecchio, 79, passed from this life in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family in Suffolk, Va., on Tuesday, July 22, 2008.Born in New Castle, the daughter of Phillip and Rose Gizzi Perrotta, she lived in the Harrisburg area for 47 years before moving to Suffolk three and a half years ago.Nancy had been employed as a secretary and office clerical worker by the U.S. Air Force at the former Olmstead Air Force Base in Middletown for several years before leaving to care for her family.She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.Nancy had a passion for crocheting and spending time with her family. She loved to play golf at the Carlisle Country Club and was a member of the “Bogie Bunch.”She was a parishioner of St. Catherine Labourne Church in Harrisburg.Her passing has saddened the hearts of her husband of 46 years, Henry J. Del Vecchio; sons David D. Del Vecchio, his wife, Penny, and their children, David, Patrick and Carmen Rose Del Vecchio of Suffolk, Bruce Tommelleo of Harrisburg and Henry Del Vecchio, his wife, Ann, and their children, Samantha and Bradley Del Vecchio of Charlotte, N.C.Nancy also leaves behind a brother, Fred Perrotta; and sisters, Yvonne Sainato and Betty Ann Leitera.A funeral service will be celebrated in Hall and Stone Funeral Home, 112 N. Harrisburg St., Steelton, Pa., on Monday, July 28, at noon with the Rev. Pang Tchrou officiating. There is no words that I can express that could tell you how much I miss my mother she was the one person I could go to for advice and comfort. The days seem longer since she went away! I have no family left with both her and Clyde Dominic Tommelleo now gone for eternity.
I keep a constant vigil over my mothers grave which is located at Fort Indiantown Gap which is 20 miles North of my home. I visit her at least once a week and sit by her grave for hours at a time. My family Priest...

There are no words to express the love I have for Nancy or my "Other Mother" as I lovingly referred to her. She was truly one of the most special people I have ever known in my life, & the kind who leave footprints on your heart & you are never, ever the same. My daughters, (Lauren & Erica), whom she told people were her granddaughters will forever have many fond memories of the time they spent with "Aunt Nancy," & the heart-felt, unconditional love she always gave them. We will miss her...
