It is of great sadness that I write in this book.
Mrs. Derrico was my neighbor, babysitter and nurturer when I was a child. Mom had to work so I spent a great deal of time with Mary and Sam. Michael [grandson] was my best buddy before he passed so many years ago as well.
It is my hope that the family feels not for grief but for the joy of her journey now set before her. She had the greatest patience and endearing warmth to us as kids and I know she will carry this on as she...
