DILLON, Mary M - Of Flint, age 93, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at Fostrian Manor, funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30AM, Saturday, October 2, 2004, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street in Flint. Fr. Douglas Osborn officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Karmanos Cancer Institute or American Heart Association. Mrs. Dillon will be at the church from 10:30AM until the time of service. Mrs. Dillon was born in Grimm Colony, Russia on August 30, 1911, the daughter of Maria and Chris Leffler. She married Allen Dillon on April 18, 1936 in East Tawas, Michigan. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Surviving are 2 daughters, Diane Saxton of Linden, Lynne and husband Andrew Marko; brother, David and wife Jessie of Glascow, Kentucky; 7 grandchildren, Thomas (Suzanne) Saxton, Susan (Louie) Iaquinta, Teresa (Matthew) Merritt, Michael Woods, Jane (Randy) Callesen, Pamela (Brad) Wiley, Peggy Marko; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen in 1990, grandson Timothy Saxton in 1973, granddaughter Carrie Saxton-Woods in 2004, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Such a fun lady your Mom was..I always remember the times spent at Uncle Jack's and Aunt Jeans cottage.Your Mom and Dad would drive up to get us and we would be included in your summer vavation. I always remember Lynn saying (Gum) Ma.She will be sadly missed. Love Joanne

Some of my earliest memories revolve around Aunt Mary, for whom I am partly named (the “Ann” in my name comes from my dad’s Aunt Annie).

I live in Cleveland, Ohio, now, but I grew up in Flushing, about 10 miles outside of Flint. Our house was in an area that would be called “semi-rural” today – meaning we had large lots and no sidewalks. In the summer when I was little I would sometimes go spend a week at Aunt Mary’s house on...

My memories of your mom are that she was always beautifully dressed and a beautiful lady.
