SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO MARY'S FAMILY. I FIRST MET MARY IN 1973 AND SHE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN ENCOURAGING ME TO WORK WITH SENIORS, WHICH I DID. SHE HAD SUCH AN UPBEAT AND BUBBLY PERSONALITY, YET VERY GENTLE AND KIND. REST IN PEACE, YOUR WORK ON EARTH IS DONE.

Dear Peter and family: my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Mary Engelmann was a talented and effective voice for seniors in Alberta over many years. I feel privileged to have known and worked with her. She was a wonderful mentor to many including myself. She was always the voice of reason that assisted others to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Mary loved music and I recall fondly numerous musical gatherings at her home at Christmas. I will miss Mary and extend my sympathy to her family.

She led a full life contributing to her community. May her memory be for a blessing.

I had the pleasure of working with Mary at the Senior Citizens Secretariat. It's true, she was a gentle generous woman. My sincere condolences to her family.

I feel so lucky having met Mary, and I'm going to miss her. I'll be thankful for my whole life that she brought one of my best friends into the world. And I will always remember her for her kindness to me (ever since I first met her when I was in graduate school), for her animated conversation, and for her wit. We talked about piano playing the last time I saw her, and it's too bad we never played with, or for, each other. I have a strong feeling that it would have been a lot of fun....

I had the pleasure of knowing Mary, always enjoying her keen sense of humour and learning from her wisdom. My deepest condolences to the family.

Mary.Engelmann was a kind and generous person who spent many years and much effort working to improve services for seniors in Alberta. She was truly a pioneer in that services for seniors were few in early days. She was also a genuine friend. She will truly be missed.

Mary was a leader in creating a vision for healthy living for seniors in Alberta and a strong advocate for the benefits of home care. I had the privilege of learning from her wisdom over the years. A big loss to our city and our province.
