Erdman, Mary A.Mary A. Erdman, 84, of Allentown, passed away peacefully in Phoebe Home on Tuesday evening, May 6, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Born January 19, 1929 in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Stefan J. and Mary J. (Tapler) Trinkle. She was the wife of the late Robert Erdman. Mary worked 32 years in the cafeteria of Muhlenberg College before retiring and prior to this she worked on the transistor line at Western Electric. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Allentown. Survivors: daughter, Patty and her husband Dave Librach of Allentown; son, David Erdman and his wife Judy of Allentown; grandchildren, Stephen and Annemarie of Allentown; sister, Ann Butch of Mertztown. Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 East 21st Street, Northampton, PA. Burial will follow in the Our Lady of Hungary Parish Cemetery. Mary and I worked at Muhlenberg College and The Allentown Fair together for years. She was the best. She was a friend, co-worker and substitute "mom".
One of my memories I have of Mary was in the year 1999. It was the last night of the fair, Lynyrd Skynyrd was playing ... it rained so hard... we were in puddles up to our ankles. Mary helped me load all the equipment into the truck at 11:00PM that night...that was the middle of the day for Mary...
She was the best... not because of...
