Mary Frances Evanchik, 61, of Brick passed away

peacefully Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Monmouth Medical Center after an 11 year battle with colon cancer. She was born in Jersey City, NJ on October 5, 1963,the youngest of 4 children of the late William Doyle and Frances Foley. She grew up in Hillside before moving to Brick in 1977. Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years George R. Evanchik and together they made a wonderful home for their two daughters Jennifer Evanchik Roberts and Beth Evanchik both of Burke, VA, her grandchildren Quinn, Owen, Cadence and Liam Roberts. Her surviving siblings are Sueann Kosakowski and her husband Bill, James Doyle and his wife Lynn and William Doyle and his wife Maryanne.

Mary graduated from Hillside High School completed her VoTech certification and pursued a career in hair styling.

She later moved to Brick to raise a family. After her daughters grew Mary

pursued an office career with Susan Ross Bean and Judy Souchek. The past few years Mary has been a homemaker, mom, grandmother, collector of chacchie earrings, confidant, motivator for her friends at the Cancer Concern Center; shoulder to cry on, and our best girlie to sit, drink and joke with.

Viewing hours will be on Friday June 12, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9pm and Saturday Morning from 8:30-9:00am at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home 885 Mantoloking Rd. Brick, NJ 08723. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday 9:30am at Church of the Visitation, Brick, NJ. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations should be sent to:

Uncle George, Jennifer & Beth. My deepest condolences. The world has lost a beautiful and loving person. She was a true fighter. I am so thankful to have her as an aunt. She will be truly missed.
