Mary Claire Evans

I was lucky enough to meet Claire several years ago at her open studio. She was generous with her stories and with her work. I thought I would buy a landscape from her but then I saw her marvelous painting of an orange cat sitting in the sunlight. I bought it, hung it on the wall by my dining table, and have treasured it ever since. As the anniversary of Claire´s death approaches, I am sending you light and love.

my heart goes out to you, her family and the rings of people whose lives she touched. i was child of of artists and when she needed a model i (and my best friend) would nude model for her. she was sensitive to our feelings, intelligent and kind.
