They say that every human being needs five hugs a day to keep the battery of the human spirit charged and alive -- one of Mary's hugs was worth every bit of five. She lived life to the fullest by loving people and giving of herself endlessly. I will miss her smile, her contagious positive attitude, and her daily acts of kindness. I was very sad to learn of Mary's passing but happy, also, to celebrate in my heart the wonderful life she shared with us. Mary was sharp as a tack, witty, friendly, and dedicated in her volunteer pursuits. I am one of her police department friends. She was such a delight to be around. The room always brightened when she was in it. I know she must be happy to have finally "gone home."

Mary was a wonderful lady so full of life and gave so much of her time! She was a good friend. Her sense of humor and the way she looked at life always brightened my day. I met Mary when she was a volunteer at Vacaville P.D. She ended up working as a volunteer there for over 17 years. Same day of the week, week after week just like clockwork. I thought of Mary as the grandmother I didn't have. She spent several holidays with us which always included 6 small children. She finally decided that...
