Skaja Terrace Funeral Home - Niles Obituary

Mary Ann Firszt, Born April 11, 1957, went to the Arms of Our Lord on Christmas Day, 2010. Loving daughter of Berenice Firszt, nee Trendota and the late Leo Firszt; Beloved sister of Carol (Dan) Dargis, David, Brian (Stacy, nee Joseph) and the late Gary Firszt; Devoted aunt to Keith, Pam, Jill, Neil, Bronson, Jeremy and the late Dustin; Great aunt to Brittany, Danielle, Jacqueline, Rachel and Jacob. Graduate of Maine East High School class of 1975. Worked for 33 years for State of Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Rehab Services, as a case coordinator, where she performed various functions for people with disabilities. The great shock of her sudden passing has left a void in all our lives. She will always be greatly missed. Her love of casino/slots and Betty Boop collections always brought a smile to others. Her enjoyment of Betty Boop would open conversations with strangers. Visitations will be held Wednesday 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave, Niles. Family and friends to gather Thursday 10:00 AM with funeral service at 10:30AM. Interment Maryhill Cemetery. Additional funeral information 847-966-7302.

Not sure what to say?

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

I worked with Mary for about two years, and loved every minute with her. I would talk to her the whole day due to she was considered my partner in crime. She was my neighbor at work and I miss her dearly. I loved you like my friend and mentor. I will deeply miss you, you are in my prayers and in my heart. Miss you, Mary....

To my Auntie Mary,
I have so many special memories that I will always cherish of us...from watching you put on make-up when I was a little girl to going to the movies and the ice cream parlor just the two of us. Loved your visits to TN too! I will forever miss your big hugs and kisses!!!! LOVE YOU FOREVER!!!

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.

Please accept our deepest sympathies for your great loss.

Maryann,
You are an angel of God. I will always love you.
