I will always remember Mary Fowler, my 9th grade English teacher and homeroom teacher for my 4 years at Irondequoit High, with fond memories. Even after so many years, I can still remember Mrs. Fowler holding her own against the class clowns who tried, but never succeeded, in getting one over on her. my absolute all-time favourite teacher, mrs. mary fowler.
high school english in her classroom was a bright & broad adventure in tangents.
she also was an enkindler - striking a bright flame to ignite the imagination. she was an earnest administrator of whimsey, weilding silliness with great skill and subtlety, disarming even the hardest of hearts.
she got mine.
