Mary Gerding

I taught with Jennipher at the Community Transitional School. As a result of this I came to know the entire Gerding family. If one member of the family was involved then all family members rallied around to provide support. Family members, led by Mary and George, showed up to help at the school regularly. The school is so lucky to have Jennipher and her extended family as supporters.

We remember Mary as a kind, generous and fun-loving person with an unforgettable twinkle in her eye & heart. In addition to providing us with a lifelong best friend in son Robert (her favorite and coincidentally only son ;-) she was the matriarch of the Gerding family home in Mount Tabor. As a family they hosted decades of neighborhood gatherings, with a special sparkle for Halloween which they hosted with style, imagination, and gusto! I grew up next door to George and Mary, and their awesome children. I felt like I was a part of their family and loved them all. Mary was the sweetest, kindness lady I've ever known. I sure enjoyed spending time with her. Mary took part in our wedding reception and I have a vivid memory of them smiling at me as my Dad walked down the isle. Mary was a lovely lady and I know she is missed by many. Love and hugs to all !!!
