GOAD, Mary F., 78, of Chesterfield, beloved mother and grandmother, entered into eternal rest on July 29, 2010 surrounded by her children. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Coy Travis Goad Sr.; son-in-law, Michael J. Saunders; her parents; and her brothers, Jerome Smith and Richard McCullough. She leaves to mourn her loss and celebrate her wonderful life, her son, C. Travis Goad Jr. and his wife, Terri; her daughter, Patsy Goad Saunders; her grandson, Travis Michael Goad (Debra); and her granddaughters, Caycee Goad Hunter (Jay) and Lindsey Goad (Mike). She is also survived by her sister, Gail Fitzpatrick Mullins of Brookfield, Wis.; her brother, Tom Fitzpatrick of Wauwatosa, Wis.; several nieces and nephews, including devoted niece, Alretta Goad Slagle; and her beloved cousin, Freda King. This warm and loving lady was "Mom" to many devoted family friends, especially Dale Finlay Davison, who Mary considered a second daughter. Mary loved her family, enjoyed traveling, especially with the Hitch-N-Go Trailer Club and the Virginia Caravanners. Mom will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her love of birds, the holiday season, shopping, and Elvis! She will be missed always. If you prefer, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation or the Richmond SPCA. The family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff at the Neuroscience Unit at Johnston-Willis Hospital for their extraordinary care. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 1, 2010 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1415 Perry St. Interment to follow in Dale Memorial Park.

Travis and Patsy,
My prayers are with you on the loss of your Mother, my Aunt and I don't know if you knew this, my baby-sitter before she met your father.
Lord Bless You,

Mom Goad was like a second mom to me and a grandmother to Patrick. We are all with you and will be with you for the future. She was quite a lady, she always had something positive to say about the day, or about something we were doing. Much love Anne and Patrick Edge

Our Prayers are with the Family at this time. Mary is out of your lives but will never be out of your hearts. One day your hearts will be joined together again in Gods Kingdom. Until then rest in the peace that she is well and in the presence of her Lord and Savior. If there is anything we can do for any of you please do not hesitate to ask.
