Angelus Funeral Home - San Antonio Obituary

Mary Louise Goodrich went to meet our Lord on May 24, 2024. Our beloved mother was born Mary Louise Grohman on July 5, 1938, to Matilda and Adolf Grohman, in String Prairie Texas. Mary was one of 13 children. Her family moved to San Antonio when Mary was 6 years old. Mary attended Little Flower grade school and Providence High School.

She married David Joseph Goodrich, and they built a loving family over 6 decades together, nurturing and providing for their 8 children. Mary worked in part-time jobs over the years, and when her children were older, she worked full time as a loan officer at St. Benedict’s and St. Gerard’s (Fellowship) Credit Union.

Mary was loved by all who knew her, including her large extended family, her lifelong and new friends, and everyone she interacted with at work, school, and church. Mary will be remembered by her strong trust and faith in God that carried her through her journeys in life. Mary never knew a stranger because she was so friendly and a light to all. She passed on her strong faith to her 8 children, 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mary's husband, David Joseph and her son David Anthony, preceded her in death.

Mary is survived by her children Michael Joseph, Janet Marie, Susan Dianne, Margaret Catherine, John Paul, Glenn Andrew, and Mary Melinda.

Not sure what to say?

Aunt Mary was just 3 years older than myself. She was someone I looked up to and admired growing up. I know her family will feel her loss forever.

Love from your cousin Jackie Goodrich Petty

Aunt Mary loved our mom, Angie so much! She was such a kind Christina soul! We were blessed to know her for so long. She and our mom shared a beautiful long lasting bond. Aunt Mary will be missed but joins our mom in Heaven. We love all of you! Debbie Wiatrek and Crystal Metzger.

Words cannot express how much this kind, gentle and loving soul meant to me. She always had a beautiful smile and spoke softly with love. I am truly blessed to know and have this "Angel" in my life growing up and as an adult. Mary will be truly missed. Soar high with our Lord whom you lived your life by example and raised a family of loving and Christian people. With all my love and respect.

Mary always treated me with respect. She was very caring and loving lady. I loved her very much.

Mrs. Goodrich was one of the sweetest and most loving women that I have ever known. She was a wonderful mother and was an extremely positive role model as a human being and child of GOD. I have such great memories of her from my childhood. My condolences to her family.

When we moved to the east side I met Mary. What a great lady and a dear friend. I was a amazed at her. She was a super woman and a great Mom. How she managed to care for her large family in her small house with one bathroom still amazes me today. I worked outside the home and I found taking care of two little ones, usually on my own, because of my husband working graveyard shift and National Guard duties. She was so supportive and positive. When we moved from the neighborhood, I...

Prayers and strength to the family of Mrs. Goodrich and may Perpetual Light shine upon her.

Mrs. Goodrich was such a wonderful and loving person and a fantastic mom!
My heart and prayers go out to her family.
