Mary Griffith Obituary
Abilene, TX
Mary K. "Miss Kitty" Griffith, 90, of Abilene, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Monday, February 4, 2019, at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, located at 5701 Hwy 277 South, with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 4 to 6pm on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mary was born on July 2, 1928 to James Ward and Ruth Parker Ward in Ludlow, Mississippi. She worked as the Assistant Manager at the Base Nursery for 25 years until her retirement. At 66 years old, she attended night school at Abilene High School and earned her high school diploma. Throughout her life, Mary was a devoted Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Griffith; and a son, Michael Griffith.
Mary is survived by her son, Jackie W. Griffith and wife Jena; and also her grandchildren, Donnie, Jaimie, Johnny and Michael Chad Griffith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Abilene Primitive Baptist Church.

Mary was a kind and sweet lady. Got to know her when she served our Kiwanis Club at Briarstone. Enjoyed having her for a client and a friend for many years. Condolences to all her family.
