Not sure what to say?

How could have been 10 years already since we last spoke. I still treasure our conversations - your passion and strength were such a help to me professionally and personally.

I am reading Mary's obituary so many years later as I have been looking for her as I planned a return to Marco Island where we last rendezvoused with her brother. I hate I am so many years away from learning of her death! We worked together over 30 years in seriousness of long term care policy and program implementation and fun of travel and food between the NW and the Caribbean.

I just read the guest book. Mary, you were well liked, after reading all the nice entries I'm convinced you will be greatly missed. I wish I could have known you better. RIP Cousin, love Tom

I have been out of the work loop a long time and have not seen Mary for about a year. She was one of the most incredible and caring people I have ever known. She will be missed by all those whose lives were touched and enriched by hers.

Mary Guthrie was a delight to know for over 30 years with our similar interests in aging services, long term care and Medicaid. She was always very informed on national, state and provider specific public policy and anticipated forthcoming system changes. I loved her enthusiasm and positive approaches to possible funding strategies for increased services. She also told often funny and heartwarming stories about her life in Belize. Miss my friend. I had the pleasure of working with Mary in Nicaragua, Barbados and the U.S. and always enjoyed her warmth and genuineness. She made an indelible mark on the world and will be missed.

Mary was a fighting woman she was loved by many . A candle has been blown out but we keep on going. Mary will be missed by many but she still has a place in our hearts. I last saw my Godmother i Belmopan in February 2012 where she spoiled me with a Virgin Pina Colada and told me in her American voice, to "hurry up and drink it before it drinks you" :) I had a fun day with her because it was her birthday and I took for her her favorite coconut tart! I will miss her for sure,
Love always,...

I went to High School with Mary and my husband and I spent a lot of time with her and her significant other at the time in our early college years. I always admired Mary and we had a lot of good times and great philosophical conversations. I think of those times fondly and wish that I had kept up with her. I am glad that our mutual friend Teresa kept up with her and was there for her up until the end. I loved you Mary and admired you then and now. God bless you! You are an angel!
