Genevieve, was called home to God on April 30, 2025 at the age 78.

Member of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth for 63 years.

Beloved daughter of the late Julius and the late Stephanie nee Dyrek.

Dearest sister of the Julia (late Norbert) Izydorek and the late Stanley (late Arline) Hanek.

Proud aunt of Mark (Wendy) Izydorek, Kurt (Teresa) Izydorek, along with grandnieces and grandnephews.

Celebration of Life Gathering on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth Convent Chapel, 310 N. River Rd., Des Plaines followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.

Interment All Saints Cemetery

For much of her life, Sister Mary Kevin dedicated herself to the food service ministry at Nazarethville Nursing Home and the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth Provincialate in Des Plaines. She also served in the medical records department at St. Mary Hospital and assisted with volunteers at Holy Family Health Center.

As young Junior sisters, Sister Kevin and I were transferred to St. Ann´s Convent in Chicago in 1965. I was assigned to teach first Grade and Sr. Kevin was to help out in the kitchen and refectory. I felt overwhelmed with my six-year-old students. I asked Mother Rose Ann if Sr. Kevin could help me in the afternoons with a small reading group.
