Not sure what to say?

I worked with Mary Harrell many years ago on a family photo project and learned first hand about her love of family and community. She is missed by all.

Mrs. Harrell was a wonderful woman. A true pillar in the community. I send to the family my deepest condolences. May your pleasant memories comfort you in your time of despair.

Few people have had as much positive influence on our community as Mary Harrell. Her encouragement and support of our son, Rob Rutland-Brown, in the formation of Chisholm Friends will always be remembered. Mary cared so deeply about the Westside neighborhood. She worked tirelessly for the Black Heritage Festival to help young black people learn of their proud heritage, and embrace it. Mary will be sorely missed, but her influence lives on in the lives of many of us. Thanks to the family...

To Mrs. Mary S. Harrell family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all on the loss of your beloved, wife, mother and grandmother; other sorrowing relatives and friends. May God bless and watch over you.

Dear Jimmy Harrell and Family,

We are so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. Her great works in the Community are a wonderful gift, and she will be remembered fondly. God Bless...

Dear Mr. Harrell and Family

My sympathy to you in the loss of a truly lovely person. Mrs. Harrell distinguished herself a very smart and dedicated person. But what always captured my attention when I spoke to or thought of Mrs. Harrell was that her spirit was always so Christ-like and kindhearted. In my last conversation with Mrs. Harrell, maybe last year, she even reminded me of the correct pronunciation of my name (as I was taught by my mother), but I had stopped using about 55...

Dear Jimmy & family. So very sorry to hear Mary has passed. What a wonderful, interesting hard-working lady who was so interested in history and did so much for documenting so many aspects of New Smyrna's history. You two and your joint efforts, along with interested others, in establishing the Heritage Museum on the West Side, is providing an invaluable asset to the community. She will be greatly missed by many, including me, in the community. Regret that I cannot attend her services...

Mr. Harrell, Wally, Brenda and Linda,

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Mrs. Harrell was a great 2nd grade teacher and an awesome educator. She was one of my favorite teachers. Always encouraged me to reach my goals.

I am praying for all of you during this time of bereavement.

Thoughts and pryaers are with this beautiful family!
