Not sure what to say?

Mary Healey was far more than a supervisor; she was a beacon of guidance and a truly remarkable human being. Serving as a Graduate Teaching Fellow under her wing was a transformative experience. I was deeply moved by the unwavering patience and genuine love she poured into her mentorship, which shaped not only my teaching but my very character. A brilliant Biology Professor, Mary truly embodied the 'Humanics' philosophy that Springfield College represents-a gifted intellectual with a...

Dr. Healey truly changed my life for the better. I first met Dr. Healey when I was going through a very difficult time in my life. Dr. Healey encouraged me to apply to be a teaching fellow in the Biology Department at SC. I had no idea that such an opportunity even existed. This experience completely changed my life and opened other doors of opportunity I otherwise would never have had. She gave me hope when I felt there was no hope. She was truly a brilliant, charismatic professor and...

I don't know if I ever got a chance to tell Mary this directly. As part of my job, several times a year I give a talk on my STEM career pathway. As part of this talk, I get to share about the people who influenced me throughout my life, and I always have a slide of Mary included. When I was 10 years old and swimming with her one summer, my mom mentioned to her that I wanted to be a marine biologist and loved sharks. Mary told us she sometimes did shark dissections in her lab at Springfield...

Dr. Healey had confidence in me when I didn't have Co fidence in myself. She was more than a professor, advisor or mentor. She was a friend. My heart is so saddened by her passing. There will never be another like her!

Dr Healey was the reason I became a professor and department chair at Springfield College. She was kind and caring charismatic and warm. I know she inspired many to become physicians and researchers. She will be missed.

I am forever grateful for my time at Springfield College working with Dr. Mary Healey. She was a thoughtful and creative leader and stood with all people without pause. I know she is enjoying a long swim in the warm sun. Forever Grateful.

Single Memorial Tree

It is with great sadness to read about Mary´s passing. She was my faculty mentor when I arrived at Springfield College and we immediately developed a bond being "Irish Catholic girls from Boston". Mary was so gracious that she allowed me to spend a night once a week in her house so I would not have to drive the long commute to my home. But more importantly, was the enduring relationship that she, Gordon Robinson (Sociology Professor) and I developed over our years together at Springfield...
