Mary Lou Humphreys was a leader in Homewood´s Park and Recreation Department when I was a child. We had a fabulous organized summer recreation program in the parks and at the schools. It was led by hired college students and we competed against each other in the most fun events. It was programs like this that launched Homewood into the wonderful community this today. She was a pioneer, a trend setter and a wonderful role model. May she rest in peace.
