Mary Louise Sambo Jackson, a native of New Orleans, La. and a brief resident of Clinton, La. following Hurricane Katrina, departed this life on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Ochsner Hospital. A retired Dietary Aid. Devoted and loving mother of Susan J. (Thaddeus) Johnson. Grandmother of Thaddeus (Taffy) Johnson Jr. and Kimberly N. Johnson, Bonus grandmother to Minister Cynthia Johnson and Rochelle L. Humphreys. Great grandmother of Taja and Taj Johnson and Tayana A. King. Wife of the late Alvin Jackson. Daughter of the late Roosevelt (Roselle) and the late Irene K. Sambo. Grandaughter of the late Louisa Jelks Wilson, Clinton, La. Sister of the late Roosevelt Sambo Jr, the late Edmonia S. Jackson and the late Mary Lee Sambo. Aunt of Larry (Arlene) Sambo, Vanessa A. Jackson, Simon J. Jackson and Angela D. Jackson. Sister in law of Ethel Jean Sambo and Anna Jackson. Godmother of Oscar R. (Paula) Washington, Joseph Lee Foster and the late Donnovan J. Jackson. Also survived by 7 bonus great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, Shuffles and other relatives, friends and many acquaintances. Relatives and friends of the family, pastors, officers and members of Macedonia Baptist Church, Uptown Shepherd Center, Classmates of Booker T. Washington High School Class of 1956, employees and staff of Ochsner Hospital, McKenzies Chicken In A Box, Disability Determinations, Tulane Medical Center, New Orleans Gospel Quartet Groups, Brothers and Sisters of Griffin Lodge 264 and Griffin Eastern Star Chapter 184 and East Feliciana Council of Aging Clinton, La. are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10 am.
