My dear friend of 30+ years, Mary Alice and I met while she was a teacher at Chalmers Elem School in Chicago. I tried to call you today and there was no phone. Mary Alice retired from CPS in 1993. I am so sorry to hear of Mary Alice's death. She was a phenomenal teacher and friend that I counted on as an aide to many of my classes at St. Michael School. Many of the students fondly remember her assistance, insights, and gentle spirit. Please accept my condolences and those of all the lives she touched while at St. Michael School.
