Mary Martha (Fainter) Kimble, 86, widow of Ray P. Kimble, died on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
She was born on March 25, 1924, in Natural Bridge, a daughter of the late Lewis and Mary (Goolsby) Fainter.
Mrs. Kimble was a member of Mount Vernon Church of the Brethren.
She was a member and also served on the Board of Directors of the Kingsway Help Center.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara J. Kimble; two brothers, Charles Fainter and Robert L. Fainter; and two sisters, Ann Chafin and Hilda Fainter.
Family members include three sons and daughters-in-law, Ray E. and Gwen Kimble of Greenville, David L. and Joyce Kimble of Staunton, and Kirk D. and Becky Kimble of Weyers Cave; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Elwood Arehart of Stuarts Draft; three brothers, Leonard R. Fainter, Kenneth F. Fainter, and William L. Fainter, all of Stuarts Draft; six grandchildren, Mary Alford, Joe Kimble, Benji Kimble, Randi Kimble, Austin Kimble, and Olivia Kimble; three great-grandchildren, Caitlin Wilson, Ashton Alford, and Jacob Kimble; and 23 foster grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Mount Vernon Church of the Brethren by the Reverend Randy Simmons. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ray, David, Kirk, Benji, and Joe Kimble, Elwood Arehart, and Mike Alford.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hobart Dunn, Bruce Sutton, Bruce Fainter, Randy Fainter, David Benson, and her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at the Henry Funeral Home and other times at her residence.
