I remember walking to school with Mary Lou
every day in 11th and 12th grades.
Then we were together in college for a while.
Saw each other later at her home and in New
York. Also in Cocoa Beach. She was always
cheerful and welcoming. Never looked on the
dark side of life. One always felt better
after visiting her. A lovely person.

Mary Lou and her family are woven into the fabric of my childhood memories. Time spent with the Ladds was never boring, often included belly laughs, delicious meals, and stories around the table.
She celebrated life, love, friends and family even when the challenges were plentiful.
I, my brother William, and mother Athena will miss her greatly.
