Mary Ashley Lansing was born in Colorado on August 1, 1916 and passed away peacefully at Sunrise
Senior Living in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, on December 10, 2010. Mary's father was Francis Hardin Ashley and her mother was Gertrude Sager Ashley. She had one sister and two brothers, all of whom predeceased her. In 1941 Mary moved to Pasadena, CA. She married Daniel H. Lansing Sr. in 1965 and they lived in Pasadena until 1989 when they moved to Leisure World in Seal Beach, CA. Mary worked for Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena from 1942 to 1981 serving as Registrar, Admissions Officer, and Academic Advisor. Mary spent many happy years with her husband, Dan Sr., and traveled many times to Hawaii, and around the United States. She was a life-long
Christian, active in church work and was a member of Leisure World Baptist Church. She was an accomplished pianist and organist. Mary was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 45 years. While retired, she and Dan spent time visiting the ill and shut-ins to bring them cheer by singing and performing for them. A Chapel Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Luyben Funeral Home, 5161 E. Arbor Road, Long Beach, CA, 90808.
