Mary E. Lawrence

Of Grand Blanc, age 91, died Monday, December 3, 2012 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Reverend Naylo Hopkins officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church. Visitation 12-8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Mary was born in Flint on January 20, 1921, the daughter of the late Alva and Mabel Jagger. Mary married Jack Lawrence on April 11, 1942 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Flint. Mary graduated from Flint Central High School, Class of 1939 and attended Flint Junior College. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and was a member of the Choir and United Methodist Women. Mary enjoyed time playing games with her children and grandchildren and spending time with her family. Surviving are husband of 70 years, Jack; children, Teri and husband Don Dubois of Sterling Heights, MI, Rick and wife Pat Lawrence of Goodrich, Debbie and husband Dick Lietzke of Port Matilda, Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothea Sumpter of Florida.
