Not sure what to say?

My mother passed away Jan 2024. I found this portrait that Mary drew of her back in 1977. I've never seen this drawing before until today. My condolences to Mary's family as well. Thank you Mary for your beautiful artwork.

I came across Mary at a Mall in Salem. I just vaguely remember the encounter, but I do recall how pleased I was at the image she sketched of me.

I have portraits of my children done by Mary. I went to Nordstrom to have them done in 1989. When she was finished I couldn´t believe how well she captured their images. I asked after complimenting her work why were prices so reasonable. She replied, "My husband and I feel that everyone should be able to afford to have a piece of art in their home". I was so pleased that I told everyone I knew and my sister and I went to be another mall just so she could have her son, my nephew, portrait...

I was speaking through a Nordstrom in the Vancouver Mall when I was 17 years old. I was at a really hard point in my life being a child with a child, I had barely turned 17 and had a 1 year old child I was raising with no help what so ever. I walked by headed to stroll my son through the mall just to get out of the house on a cold wet winter day. As I went by the front of the store almost to the main area of the mall, this sweet lady came up to me and asked me what was wrong. I said nothing,...

Hello! I just purchased a drawing of an Indian girl in a Shawnee Oklahoma antique store! It was signed Mary E. Libby, so I looked her up and discovered this! It is a beautiful piece and I bought it in honor of my Cherokee Indian heritage-my great great grandmother came on the Trail of Tears! I just wanted to share the picture!

My friend just bought me this portrait when he went out today and surprised me with it. My friend knows that I am part Cherokee and part Algonquin. So when he saw this he had to buy it for me. I decided to look up the artist to see if I could find anything about her and sad to say I found that Mary had passed away. I was just wondering if there was anyway I could find out if she had any more of her artwork for sale or if I could find out anymore about her? Tanja McNaughton

Tevian B. 4yrs

After looking through some of my mothers things who recently passed I rediscovered a sketch when I was 4yrs. I'm sorry to see that see has passed.

I meet Mary in 1987. She did two pencil drawings of my sons. i just put them in new frames today. I decided to look her up and found this. I am sorry. I was a very young mom and I remember her like it was yesterday. She did the drawings of my boys in the mall at Clackamas town center. she was sweet and funny and her pictures have hung in my home every day since the sitting.. Thank you for capturing a moment in time with your beautiful hand.

Paul, I have thought of you and Mary during the years at Mahonia, her portrait of Alan and support and advice and kindness and how much you two had loved each other. I'm in Portland now and often walk to the post office on 7th and sometimes detour to 9th and Ash and read the plaque on the old Centenary Wilbur Church and think of you both with affection. Our roads crossed briefly, but you and Mary touched me with kindness and homemade bread and messing up your kitchen with honey and beeswax. I...
