Read MoreMary was my adviser at Goshen College in the early '90s and let me do a poetry group for scientists as my thesis project in Biology. I am deeply grateful for her interdisciplinary mentorship and have fond memories of talking poetry and wandering around Merry Lea looking for ferns with her. I am now an English professor and hope to be as much of a joyful presence in my students' lives as she was in mine.
