Not sure what to say?

I too was influenced by Mrs. Lisby at Reese Road School. She made a huge impact on me and encouraged my love for reading. She opened the library once a week in the summer. She knew every student by name. I remember installing a Selectric typewriter for her as a student assistant at IBM around 1980! She had a special spirit and influenced so many kids over the years. We need more Mary Lisby´s in this world.

I am so glad to have found this. She was my librarian at Reese Road Elementary, and without her, I sincerely doubt that I'd be who I am now. Come June, I'll be addressing a national group of librarians in Atlanta, and I think I will dedicate my talk to Mary Jon O'Mary Lisby. God bless you and keep you, Mrs. Lisby. You changed my life.

I am so saddened by this news. She was one of the most honest people I know. She helped me when I was alone with three kids and one of them was being taken by ambulance to Atlanta. She would come and read to my class (several times). I never tired of listening to her stories. Whenever I went to Edgewood I...

We are so sorry in the loss of Mary, she was a very special Lady that I attended church with for so many years. Mary was so kind and loving to everyone and never met a stranger. Her legacy will live on. The family will be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Love, Joyce, Billy, Tommy, Jimmy, and Bobby McCullough

Mary and Carroll were both faithful and loyal Christians that influenced my life. May God be with their family during this time of grief.

She was my first librarian at Reese Road Elementary. She was a sweet person whom all of the children loved. RIP Ms. Lisby!

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

Mary was my mentor in my first library position, at 22, and also in subsequent library positions. I loved her and learned from her, professionally and personally.
She will be missed and always, always remembered.
