Not sure what to say?

What fun Mary and I had traveling to, and participating in, horse shows! When it was my turn to enter the arena, Mary was there to give both the horse and I encouragement. When I was ready to mount, she gave give me a needed "leg up." As so many know, Mary never hesitated to give anyone a needed "leg up."

My dear friend Mary and I had so many memorable adventures together! One I recall vividly is when we were on a cross country jaunt and Mary had a serious fall that was obvious an injury to her hip or leg. An ever so slight grimace was momentarily on her face, but then in a soft voice she reassured the disraught third member of the group and me that we were to take a breath, to not be overly concerned, and that she would ski back to the car without any assistance. Even when it would be...

Mary and I met at ages 20 and 21and soon discovered we had many things in common; including our birth date! We became inseparable and together we traveled, camped, fished, sang, did carpentry projects, sewed our own clothes and participated in years of showing horses. Mary was a part of our family and my mother, whom Mary called "Mom"; absolutely adored her. Every family holiday celebration Mary was there with us. All who knew this special, lovely lady know of her graciousness and gentle...

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. Truly a most lovely person, Mary Lott.

Ah, dear Mary made a very large impact in the life of our daughter, Shauna Purcell. We are forever thankful for Mary´s brilliant instruction on oboe that she passed on to Shauna, who became a gifted performer and teacher.

I love the beautiful photo of Mary playing her oboe! I was reminded of what an astonishing person she was & yet I didn´t even know half of the things she was accomplished in. I knew Mary from Orff Schulwerk meetings & conferences. As a fellow colleague said "she guided, supported, cheered so many of us along the way." She always had the best materials to introduce us music teachers to, to help us keep our teaching invigorated. Condolences to her loved ones-human and canine. May she rest in...

Dear family of Mary, I am so sorry to hear of Mary´s passing away. She was such a dynamic person with an incredible amount of energy. She will be missed. I met Mary through our ORFF/POSA workshops and conferences. Her wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm was always stellar. And it was so much fun to chat with her! I send sweet, caring songs to you all. Fondly, Jenny Potter

A friend once told me "If you want to get something done, ask a busy person!" Mary was indeed that person for me and for many other fortunate music teachers. She was a tireless and brilliant resource for our classrooms, always at the ready with humor, helpful advice, and her can-do spirit. Courageous, warm, wise, and friendly, her legacy will sing on, con brio! My best to Mary's family.
