Not sure what to say?

I admired Mary Lou from the first time that I met her when she welcomed me to the New Horizons band in Sudbury, MA. Her lively positive spirit, kindness and energy were inspiring. I'll miss her, and so will many others.

I sat next to Mary Lou many times as we played the clarinet together in the Sudbury Valley New Horizon Band and it's jazz band. She was always game to try something new (jazz band). She and I shared many laughs while learning to play jazz and when socializing. She will surely be missed. My prayers are being sent to the family and friends.

I was sad to learn of Mary Lou's passing. She was a cheerful presence at rehearsals with our Sudbury Valley New Horizons Band. May happy memories sustain you during this challenging time.

Here is a photo of Mary Lou playing her clarinet with some of the other Sudbury Valley New Horizons Band members at Ryles Jazz Club in Boston.

Mary Lou was always so involved and such a positive force in both our Sudbury Valley New Horizons Band and the adult band camp at New England Music Camp and both of us really enjoyed working with her. She was always upbeat, involved with others, and always willing to try something new. During the pandemic, when we were rehearsing on-line and creating video performances, despite all the technical challenges, she was determined to master the technology and participate in every video...

What a friendly, kind woman Mary Lou was. I played with her in the Sudbury Valley New Horizons Band and am so impressed to learn she played with so many groups. May she rest in peace.

Marylou was our neighbor here in Venice for the past six years. We were so blessed to have such a loving, kind , vibrant neighbor. I always say she is my inspiration!!!

Mary Lou Abbott was a shining star in our circle of friends in Venice, FL. She regularly joined our Wednesday dinner outings with her generous laughter and keen wit. Mary Lou was quietly generous and thoughtful in her special quiet way. Her friendship was a treasure my wife and I will always keep close to our hearts.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Mary Lou. She was a joy to have on the beach with her yoga friends. I am honored to be in her memories. Thank you Mary Lou for the pleasure of knowing you.
