Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel Obituary

Mary Botts Maiberger passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 to be with the angels. She was 85.


Mary was born in 1932 and grew up in Brewton, AL. She graduated from T.R. Miller High School in Brewton and received a degree in Education from Troy University. Mary was a teacher at Pensacola High School before becoming a Navy officer’s wife in 1958. She and her husband George started a family and spent the next 25 years deployed at multiple duty sites across the country. On their return to Pensacola in 1975, Mary worked at several local companies including Dodson, Craddock and Born Advertising, Sam’s Style Shop, and Louis Bear Company.


Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many, many people during her lifetime.


She is survived by her husband of 59 years, George; son George and wife Laura, granddaughters Mallory and Megan, of Pensacola; son, Kevin of Los Angeles; daughter, Patricia and husband CAPT. James Rossi, USNR, grandson, Louis and granddaughter, Mary of Leesburg, VA; daughter, Paula and wife Chris, grandson, Ty and granddaughters, Paige and Allie of Decatur, GA; and sister, Linda and husband John Looney, of Roy, UT.


Visitation will be at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel on Airport Boulevard Monday, July 31, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00pm. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday morning, August 1, 2017, at 10 o’clock at Bayview Memorial Park.


In accordance with Mary’s wishes, the family requests donations to the Pensacola Humane Society in lieu of flowers.


Mary’s husband and children wish to thank the expert and caring staff at The Haven of our Lady of Peace for their devoted kindness during Mary’s time there, and the residents and professionals of Broadview Assisted Living, and Covenant Hospice, for the love and consideration Mary received in their care.

What a great loss for us but a great gain for heaven. My sweet Marymai, she was a wonderful, funny, witty, gracious, adorable friend. RIP sweet lady. I am so happy that our paths crossed.

So very sorry for you all. Sending love and prayers to each of you. I wish I could be at the visitation to give you a hug. Will be in Chicago but will be with you in spirit.
