Sister Mary Daniel is someone who is hard to forget once you met her. I do not recall the last time I saw her, but when I think of her I still see her face through my "first grader" eyes! The pre-Vatican II habits were imposing to us first graders and her firm voice insured that we marched in order. Sister Mary Daniel was my first & second grade teacher at St. Joseph's in Auburn. She was such a loving person. It was my first time spending time with Nun's and even with her bigger than life black "habit" with a huge rosary around her waist, I was never afraid of her. I don't think anyone was, we all loved her. I was fortunate to see her again in 1996, at Mercy General, where my dad had heart surgery. She remembered my family and was wonderful to us. Sister Mary Daniel was my first principal. She helped me to become the teacher I am today. I will treasure her interest and devotion to our education ministry.
