Sister Mary Bonaventure Mangan

To the family of,Sister Mary Bonaventure Mangan.I will always remember her,as she walked around the,Our Mother Of Mercy campus,ringing the bell in her hand.I really liked her,thought a lot of her,even as a child at the school,I was there,from 1963-1971,,grades 1-8,and had other siblings also there who attended.In the bulletin,that announced her memorial,my sister,who also attended Our Mother Of Mercy,,Mary Elizabeth Frazier,,is in a loving memory,on the back side.I thought it was so...

Sister Bonaventure sought a solution for young people falling through the "cracks" in traditional education. Her solution was the opening of Cassata Learning Center- one of Tarrant County's first alternative high schools. Sister's gift of inspiring others to achieve positive results under great odds, affected the lives of Cassata students, as well as the faculty and staff. I feel honored to have worked at Cassata with Sister as associate director and principal.

I had the honor and privilege of meeting Sister Bonaventure this summer in San Antonio. She spoke with tremendous pride and love about Cassata High School. It is clear that we are all blessed to have been positively impacted by this remarkable woman.

The world was a better place for Sister Bonaventure being here. She
inspired us all.She gave of her heart and mind. I was privileged to serve on the board of Cassata
Learning Center.She touched so many
lives. I will miss her dearly. My
love to her family and the Sisters
of the Holy Spirit and Mary Immaculate and especially to Sister
Mary V. Fulbright.

Sister B. was an amazing person who dedicated every day to glorifying God by serving mankind. Her heart for children and passion for education as the great equalizer transformed the Fort Worth community and brought hope and a bright future to thousands of young people. She is a great inspiration and a cherished friend.
