Not sure what to say?

Not every girl gets to meet the Dean of Women at UGA on good terms. I was privileged to serve on a panel discussion lead by Dr. Hammack of the Psychology Dept. when I was an "older" student and Dean McBee was a faculty participate as well. She was so charming and delightful to get to know if even for a short time. She made a difference in this world. My sincere condolences to her family.

Dean McBee's family:

Deann McBee was a very interesting, and positive person to the students at UGA and the Athens community. I was at Georgia during her earlier years. she wa an institution just like Dean Tate. She will be missed by all who knew her. You will be in my thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks.

What a wonderful person! She helped me with academic matters beyond the call of duty. Her work in the legislature getting unused sick leave converted to service time allowed me to retire a year early. And a friendly neighbor to boot! The Athens community will miss you.

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.

I loved Louise McBee. She was a good friend. She was the best administrator I ever knew. She could work with anyone, she was constructive, she was not afraid of a new idea. When I had doubts about academia, I thought about Louise and I knew that it was possible to continue, always, with integrity. I will always love thinking about Louise McBee.
