Mary Lou Ray McCain, 84, of Denton passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton with the Rev. Victor Williams officiating. Interment: Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville. Visitation: 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. She was born Nov. 3, 1928, in Longview to Henry Grady Ray and Annie Lou Baxter Ray. She married Fred Noel McCain on July 22, 1949. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Benefit League. She graduated from NTSU with a master's in physical education. She taught physical education prior to her becoming a successful Realtor in Denton for many years. She was president of the Denton Board of Realtors in 1974 and received the Top Realtor award in 1976. Mary loved to entertain and loved having friends and family to her home. She was an avid Mean Green fan. Mary and Fred loved to travel and spend time in Puerta Vallarta. A special thanks to the caretakers of Hospice Plus, Atria of Grapevine and Kind Companions for the loving care of our mother, Meme, wife, aunt and friend. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; and sister, Lila Francis Jordan. Survivors: Daughter, Karen N. McCain-Otto and husband, Steve; son, Ray Noel McCain and wife, Jodi; grandson, Bradley Noel McCain; seven nieces and nephews; and granddog, Curly Lou Otto.

/Mary passing brings back many pleasant memories of her and Fred. 1955 when the opened their home at Christmas to me and over the years were people Jane and I enjoyed at many meetings . Avery good woman gone but never forgotten
