Not sure what to say?

In 2000 we were able to get many of the Burns and Campbell families (including spouses and children) together at Sparrow Lake in the Muskoka region of Ontario Canada. How fortunate we were that the Gittings branch of the family tree was also represented at this gathering through the presence of Joe Gittings, IV and Mary Lou Gittings McDowell. My brothers, Larry and David, were able to visit again with Joe and Mary Lou when they came to the Orlando, FL area. As a family that LOVES family...

My prayers are with the family of Mary Lou.
I am a volunteer at Strawberry Square and am sorry I never got to meet such a great person.
God Bless

My deepest sympathy for your loss.
I met Mary Lou at the HNJ widow/er group. She was so warm, kind and welcoming. Such a lovely lady. She will be missed....

I am so saddened by the loss of your Mother and Grandmother. I knew Mary Lou from the arthritis class at the Friendship Center. What a joyful spirit she had and a great smile. She often mentioned her children and grandchildren and her pride in all of you was keenly evident. We also enjoyed hearing about her dinner club meals and travels. We will miss her greatly. May the thoughts of family and friends be comforting to you at this very difficult time.
With greatest sympathy,

My deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to Mary Lou's family and many friends. I met Mary Lou initially on a AAUW trip and then saw and talked with her often at the Friendship Center. She shared with me her love for travel and new experiences and her intellectual depth, as well as her deep devotion to her family, particularly her grandchildren. She will be genuinely missed. May her family find peace and comfort in the knowledge of how well regarded she was by everyone.

Mary Lou was a wonderful classmate from the Penn Hills Senior High School Class of 1960 who always came to our class reunions, including last year, our 55th! I am so glad we got the chance to visit with her then. She was always a lovely, caring and gracious person, even as a teenager. We will all genuinely miss her.

Mark, MaryBeth and family,
Mary Lou was such a force of nature! Her interests and accomplishments were phenominal. I always admired her boundless energy and enthusiasm for everything she did. From HNJ days to being collegues at lower Dauphin, I never tired of conversing with her. We mourn with you at your great loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

The news of Mary Lou's death saddened me. I knew her from the aqua class at our community center and I was always impressed by her knowledge on so many subjects. She often talked about her daughter and family, and her son in Florida. She was a friendly, caring person and will be missed.
