Mary was a steady source of advice, inspiration, and love from the moment I came to Mount Holyoke some 42 years ago. Thank you.

i am so sad to hear of Mary's death. i will, for many reasons, think of her as my very best friend, even though we had not seen each other for a few years. i feel honored to have been in the front passenger seat on several "heavy foot" drives, and to have enjoyed her company along with gourmet delights until she retired to D.C. my deepest sympathies to her beloved family, all of whom i was fortunate to meet and admire. Rest in peace--and power--dear friend.
