McMAHON, Mary Wells Moore, 93, of Richmond, died on November 7, 2011. Mary Wells was born in Heathsville, Va. on February 21, 1918, the oldest daughter of Robert Betts Moore and Leah Rice Moore. Raised in Reedville, Va., she was a graduate of Reedville High School, and attended the College of William & Mary. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Robert J. McMahon Jr.; and her sister, Emily Flynt Moore Littleton. She is survived by her sons, Robert J. McMahon III of Vancouver, Canada and James Moore McMahon of New York; former daughter-in-law, Joanne Maher, Seattle, Wash.; and two grandchildren, Patrick Maher McMahon of Austin, Texas and Colleen Moore McMahon of New York.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond, Va. 23220, with a Christian Wake service held at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Benedict Church, 300 N. Sheppard Street, Richmond, Va. 23221. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, 412 S. Cherry Street, Richmond, 23220.

Robert/Moore - Your Mom was certainly an icon of 'the old neighborhood' on Grove Avenue. It was special that her friendship with our Mother carried forward through all of these years until recently. My thoughts and prayers for her and you both
